Silverstack provides new feature for metadata transfer to Media Composer

Munich, Germany – The availability of as much information as possible in the cutting room can save a lot of time for communication among the project participants within a film production workflow. The new transfer feature of Silverstack SET enables digital film productions and postproduction facilities to enrich their standard editorial workflow with information from the film set.

Silverstack SET’s clip library automatically collects all descriptive and technical metadata from movie files during offloading and quality check. This information can now be transferred from the clip library to the Media Composer via AVID Log Exchange (ALE) files.

With this new feature the users of Avid Media Composer benefit from the comprehensive availability of all metadata from the film set. This significantly simplifies work in the cutting room and additionally reduces the time spent on communication within the project.

The new feature has been developed in close collaboration with experts from the industry. Michael Phillips from Avid about the new features: “With the comprehensive support for ALE transfer in Silverstack SET users of Avid Media Composer now benefit from a remarkably simplified workflow by getting metadata from film set to editorial.”
