Linearization

White-point, black-point and gamma linearization, Kodak-style LogLin, 1D LUT linearization, global (de-) saturation settings, 3D LUT linearization (3D LUT linearization not available on MacBooks and Intel-MacMinis*), presets management, floating point precision, fast processing through GPU usage.

High color depth (HCD) pipeline

New high color depth (HCD) pipeline, support for 10bit DPX and 16bit TIFF as source material, support for any 10bit YUV and RGB codecs for QuickTime such as Apple ProRes (HQ), 10bit Uncompressed, SheerVideo from BitJazz or Cineform HD, basic "full-range" video support (super-black and super-white) for capable YUV codecs, available as separate license.

See the HCD section for more details on the creation of 10 bit QuickTime movies with the high color depth pipeline.

Misc

QuickLook plugin, support for CoverFlow with DPX files, Leopard folder icons

Supported Filetypes

  • Input: DPX and Cineon, OpenEXR, RGB, TIF/TIFF, BMP, JPG, PNG, TGA, SGI and various RAW formats of DSLR cameras
(DPX and Cineon only available in Full Edition and HCD Full Edition)
  • Output: JPG, TIF, QuickTime (all installed codecs)

Exchange with other applications

Export current clipping to any other application such as graphics applications, iChat or Mail with drag&drop.

Embedded FrameCalculator

Expression based timecode calculation, multiple timecode mixing, calculation of disk space and network transfer times, conversion into footage length, integration (timecode exchange) with current sequences.
See the FrameCalculator page for more info.

Embedded Spotlight Plugin for DPX files

Meta data extraction of resolution, SMPTE timecode, keycode and project name from the DPX header. So you can for example use spotlight to check, if for a certain timecode a 1k proxy exists ("dpx 01:23:45:12 1024").
See the stuff page for more info.
