Livegrade Viewer turns iPhones and iPads into personal monitors for individual crew members, while Livegrade Cinema brings streaming to Apple Vision Pro for immersive video workflows or a more cinematic viewing experience right on set. How Livegrade Viewer works for DPs and others

The Livegrade Viewer app gives all crew with iOS devices direct access to low-latency video streams via a local network on or near set. Whether you want to see the current look applied to the live signals, compare live feeds with reference images, or check lighting, color, and framing: Livegrade Viewer puts all this right in your hands.

Single or mutli-view streams
Choose from single or multi-view streams, combining multiple live signals or references in a grid to evaluate scenes with greater context and detail.
Tailored views
Whether you want a clean camera feed or additional metadata, like camera settings or slate information, Livegrade operators can create output views tailored to your needs.

How Livegrade Cinema enables immersive monitoring

Livegrade Cinema extends monitoring beyond physical displays to Apple Vision Pro. Running on visionOS, Apple’s spatial operating system, Apple Vision Pro blends digital content with your physical surroundings to create a portable, immersive workspace. Livegrade Cinema applies this concept to on-set monitoring in media productions, opening up new possibilities beyond conventional monitors and allowing you to directly assess and review immersive video content as it is shot.

Interactive spatial viewing
Create your own spatial viewing environment with multiple virtual monitors for live camera feeds, playback, and reference images from streams configured in Livegrade. Arrange and resize the screens to suit your needs, and take your personal monitoring setup with you as you move around the set. Adjust how much you blend digital content with your surroundings to either stay focused on your content or keep your surroundings visible for easy collaboration with cast and crew.
Cinema-style viewing
A large virtual screen provides distraction-free, theater-like viewing conditions right on set to assess the creative intent, cinematography, performances, set design, costume, and other creative details from another perspective.
Review immersive video content
Livegrade’s latest frontier features for immersive video productions close the monitoring gap, since immersive video cannot be fully assessed with standard “2D” monitoring alone. With Livegrade Cinema, you can live-monitor and review stereo, 180° content directly on Apple Vision Pro. Check the immersive experience of your shots using the available UHD preview resolution from Livegrade’s capture.

How Livegrade Viewer and Cinema work for DITs

For Livegrade operators, both companion apps work like any other output, but are configured for low-latency streaming over a local network. Add the optional Outputs and Streaming module to your standard Livegrade edition to unlock streaming functionality. This allows DPs and other crew to easily follow the live image from their own devices anywhere on set. They can also create and access their own collections of reference stills directly on their personal devices.

Customizability of views
Focus on what helps each role the most. Configure multiple streams of live signals and references, create contact-sheet-style overviews of entire scenes, and tailor output views within Livegrade.
Network streams
Both companion apps receive streams from Livegrade via the on-set network using industry-standard encryption. A custom streaming protocol optimized for local wireless networks ensures very low latency and high reliability for smooth monitoring.
Additional security
Effortlessly meet security requirements in alignment with your production's policy by incorporating watermarks into streams.
