Same core,
more compact.
Reeltime Lite is the lighter software version of Reeltime Pro, delivering all the essential features and performance power to thrive with professional video assist on the film set. From distributing signals and recording to playback and managing all recorded media and associated info, Reeltime Lite keeps everything running smoothly.
More than twisting knobs.
Still easy to use.
Reeltime Lite challenges convention by combining the flexibility of advanced software with the simplicity inherited from hardware recorders. The blend of both worlds in Reeltime Lite offers real-time video processing, direct access to all key features even via physical controllers like a Stream Deck, comprehensive signal and media management, tailored output views, integration into the operating system, and much more.
Focused on the essentials.
Budget-friendly without compromise.
Compact and affordable, Reeltime Lite is the perfect solution for those who don’t want to compromise on usability and performance but don’t require the full capabilities, like chroma keying or streaming options, of Reeltime Pro.
Don’t sweat the common roadblocks of video assist.
Easy start
Empowers users to kick off with minimal gear, offering an easy-to-learn UI that streamlines multi-tasking and accelerates repetitive activities.
Harnessing Apple silicon
Leveraging Apple’s latest processors delivers peak performance for interruption-free signals. Quick-to-respond UI that launches where you left it within seconds.
Minimized latency
Eliminates crew frustration caused by irritating signal delays and provides unprocessed, zero-delay live feeds thanks to pass-through options.
Prime conditions
Ensures instant reviews. Plus, tailored output views guarantee that the director, script supervisor, and other creative roles see exactly what they need.
Setup
Minimal gear, high impact.
Although Reeltime Lite integrates with a wide range of devices from various manufacturers, the required hardware list remains fairly simple and cost-effective. It is also an excellent starting point for entry-level users, who enormously benefit from the intuitive design and easy learning curve.
Reeltime Lite delivers full performance on any MacBook with an Apple silicon processor. The only additional hardware required to get started is a video I/O device, such as the AJA IO X3.
Add an audio device like a Focusrite Scarlett or any other USB audio interface to handle audio flexibly. To keep your setup even more compact, you can also use SDI-embedded audio through video I/O devices from AJA or Blackmagic.
Introducing a Stream Deck controller brings all frequently repeated actions to your fingertips. A dedicated, out-of-the-box working plugin allows you to fully control the application with the Stream Deck keys.

- Video I/O device
Not a single crash or hiccup from Reeltime. That was such a blessing on all the signals and more floating around on set with no assistant. I was happy to trust this software so well.

UI concept and signal distribution
Stay on top of everything.
With a focus on transparency and flexibility, Reeltime’s central user interface is designed around connectable slots. This concept empowers you to easily manage and route multiple live and playback signals to various monitoring destinations - fast, simultaneously, without losing track. Use the different slot types and modes to present or compare single or multiple live and playback feeds. Create dedicated output views for your director, script supervisor, and other key roles, enabling prime viewing conditions for efficient decision-making and smooth collaboration. Learn more about the slot types and how they work below.
Input slots
Your primary workbenches for recording and playback. Associate input slots to incoming signals for live monitoring, recording clips, and playback. It also features a reference mode, allowing you to compare live and playback signals side-by-side or in a swipe view.
Library slot
Your personal, private staging area. Prepare recordings and references from the clip library for review, ensuring they’re ready before anyone else sees them. Once done, route them to any output slot, keeping distractions for others to a minimum.
Composite slot
Serves as an assembly zone to create composites of input slots and/or your library slot. Select from four layout options: side-by-side, 2x2 grid, or swipe view.
Output slots
This is your showroom! Associate output slots with monitoring destinations. Flexibly decide who receives which signal by setting any input, library, or composite slot as the source. Quick routing options allow you to temporarily pin the source of an output slot to your UI slot selection or force an output slot always to receive the live signal from its source slot. Additionally, tailor each output view for the specific use cases by applying filters only to the individual output slot.
Tailored views
Empower confident decisions
and seamless collaboration.
You're finished setting up who sees which signals on which monitor by slot configuration? Let’s bring in the precision tools to shine with your output views! Choose from various filter types, such as crop, flip, image overlay, metadata overlay, and LUT. Apply them to the input and output slots to tailor unique views for your director, script supervisor, or any other role. To highlight what’s achievable, let’s look at two common examples:
While script supervisors need to see all relevant camera metadata, directors prefer a clean, distraction-free feed. To meet both needs, apply a crop filter to the director’s output to remove the camera’s metadata while providing the script supervisor with the uncropped image including all metadata. For info completeness, include a metadata overlay filter to the script supervisor’s output showing key details like scene, shot, take, and timecode.
Add a standard log-to-video conversion with a LUT filter when the camera department leaves a log image on the camera’s SDI output. This ensures all output slots display a more appealing preview rather than a flat, washed out signal.
