Pomfort offers free Spotlight Plugin for .R3D files! March 26th, 2008
The RED RAW (.r3d) file format offers valuable production metadata such as various timecode information (TOD TC and Edgecode), production metadata (e.g. clip, reel or camera) as well as tons of recording metadata such as exposure, Kelvin or tint.
The Pomfort R3D Metadata Importer lets you use this data in Spotlight’s search index. In the background the REDline command line tool is used (separate download from red.com).
The R3D Metadata Plugin for Spotlight is available as a free download.

Update to SilverStack and Cinemator 1.4.1 January 31st, 2008
The free update of SilverStack and Cinemator is ready for download! The main changes include bug fixes (DPX handling, TGA/SGI files, bug reporter and more) and minor enhancements such as the long awaited “high quality” playback flag for DV movies. Users can update by choosing “Check for updates…” in the application menu.
If you sent bug reports with SilverStack or Cinemator v1.4 (thanks for that!), please resend your bug reports: Due to a bug in SilverStack’s and Cinemator’s bug-reporter, the bug reports didn’t include crash-logs in v1.4

Pomfort SilverStack v1.4 is ready for Leopard! November 28th, 2007
SilverStack is ready for Leopard! Licensed users can get the most out of Leopard Finder with a full featured QuickLook plugin for DPX files for CoverFlow previews of DPX image sequences. Check the “What’s new” page to see what else has changed in v1.4.
The new version of SilverStack also brings a new rendering pipeline that now supports a high color depth (HCD) pipeline from the source images to the QuickTime movie. So with capable codecs such as Apple’s ProRes, Uncompressed 10bit 4:2:2, SheerVideo, CineformHD or codecs from AJA and Blackmagic SilverStack now supports 10 bit QuickTime creation from 10 bit DPX and 16 bit TIFF files. See the “HCD” page for more on that.
The new version of Pomfort SilverStack is now ready for download. For the HCD features we offer a separate license, but all other improvements are free of charge for all owners of a licensed copy of Pomfort SilverStack v1.0 (or higher). Of course you still can use Pomfort SilverStack for free as a 10-day evaluation.
