LiveGrade – the tool for camera look creation via HD-SDI

Pomfort’s LiveGrade Beta is released. This unique software tool allows to pre-produce Alexa looks interactively on a live image and enables to create Look XML files for the production workflow directly in the camera.

Pomfort LiveGrade is a complete solution and facilitates the creation, manipulation and management of camera looks. LiveGrade in combination with the capabilities of Blackmagic’s HDLink make a live manipulation of HD-SDI images possible. In preparation for the shooting camera looks can be created and managed fast and interactively.

A beta of Pomfort LiveGrade is now available.

Silverstack SET goes 2.0 – major update is released

The new major updated version of Silverstack SET is now available with significant changes. From today there is no need to purchase licenses for the support of every single fomate – Silverstack SET 2.0 combines all supported hardware format by default. Beside the existing support of files coming from ARRI Alexa, RED, Canon DSLRs, Nikon DSLRs and GoPro cameras, Silverstack SET 2.0 additionally supports the workflow of AJA and Atomos field recorders.

Of course Silverstack SET 2.0 comes with a bunch of new features:

  • Document project and data management status

  • Print reports containing all relevant statistics

  • Preview CineStyle and SLog clips in Rec.709

  • Transfer your clips to Final Cut Pro X

Despite the remarkable expansion of the new software version, Pomfort has currently reduced the price of Silverstack SET 2.0 to 499 EUR / 599 USD and it is now available in the web store. A new offer is available for temporary usage / subscription with the possibility to subscribe Silverstack 2.0 for three months and for one month.

For DITs and on-set technicians working with source material of different cameras and recorders at the filmset, Silverstack SET 2.0 solves the problem to handle different data formats. Silverstack SET automatically collects all the metadata from the different movie files in its clip library during the verified copy and backup process. Quality Check results of the source material can be manually added into the clip library as metadata. The library now includes several enhancements to organize and classify all the movie clips at the filmset.

To benefit from all this information in postproduction Silverstack SET 2.0 extends the range of transfer features e.g. to FCP, AVID Media Composer, Speedgrade / Framecycler and via CSV.

Silverstack LT H.264: New XML interchange with Final Cut Pro X

Pomfort has released an update to Silverstack LT H.264 that includes support for the new XML interchange of Final Cut Pro X. With Silverstack LT H.264 Pomfort offers one of the first workflow solutions integrating Apple’s recently introduced XML support for Final Cut Pro X. Additionally a Final Cut Pro plugin DSLR Log2video is published for Canon DSLR fimmakers using Technicolor’s CineStyle format. In Final Cut Pro X the plugin now can be applied automatically to all clips without transcoding.

Silverstack LT H.264 is a tool for backing up film material as well as for organizing and preparing clips for editorial tasks. This software tool provides features that maximize the efficiency of organizing film clips right from the beginning. During the offload of camera storage cards Silverstack LT H.264 checks and verifies that all clips are backed up completely. At the same time the software scans all relevant clip information and stores them into Silverstack’s clip library. The search function enables the user to find all of the relevant clips and their related information.

For checking the quality of film clips, Silverstack LT H.264 comes with pixel accurate zoom as well as channel, focus and clipping inspectors. Comments, annotations and ratings can be added directly to film clips. All information is saved within the library and travels with clips when they are transferred to editorial programs like Final Cut Pro 7, Final Cut Pro X and Avid Media Composer.
