The involvement of a distributed team in the filmmaking process is of greater significance today than ever before. Reviewing footage for dailies and post-production processes can be initiated more promptly with the remote file gathering capabilities of Ci Media Cloud. Hence, we added another option for a cloud-based data transfer to Silverstack Lab: It now supports direct upload to Sony’s Ci Media Cloud.
Ci Media Cloud is a cloud-based production and collaboration solution from Sony where users can capture, backup, review, transform and run streamlined media workflows. The platform offers remote file gathering, real-time collaboration, automated transcoding, file transfer, QC, logging, and archive functionality. All team members are able to access Ci via a standard web browser.
While benefiting from Silverstack Lab’s dailies creation capabilities, the integration with Ci can simplify the remote content acquisition workflow and allows production teams to invite dispersed team members to participate remotely in the post-production process. Direct upload of all transcoded files from a Silverstack Lab project via a Ci File Request URL eliminates the additional step of switching to a web browser to access Ci.
To enhance progress monitoring, the job overview in Silverstack Lab displays a comprehensive record of all uploads to Ci, enabling users to identify and manage the status of each transfer. Uploads can be paused and resumed at any time. Additionally, upon successful completion of an upload, corresponding media files are automatically registered as “Remote Resources” within Silverstack Lab’s file tab. A list of all uploads can be added to customized reports shared among team members, including a reveal link for each file.
